Sports massage in Newcastle

Recovery is part of the plan.

Progress is not only made in the session. It is made in how well you recover from it. Sports massage is one way to look after the body you train with and keep moving the way you want to.

Our therapists work inside Physique Pro, so treatment fits around your training week instead of becoming another trip across town. Book a session after you train, or talk to the team about treatment for an injury or an upcoming event.

Who it’s for

Treatment for how you actually train

Injury recovery

Getting back after an injury, or dealing with a niggle that will not go away? Your therapist talks through what is going on and tailors treatment to you.

Event and training support

Training for an event or working through a heavy block? Treatment that helps you manage the demands of your training.

Everyday aches and pains

Stiff from the desk, tired from being on your feet, or simply fed up with aches? You do not need to be an athlete to book a session.

Hi, I’m David, a Level 4 qualified Sports Massage Therapist. I first qualified in 2016 and have been working with clients ever since.

Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide variety of clients, from competitive athletes and regular gym-goers to people experiencing the everyday aches, pains and muscular tension that come with work and daily life.

I offer sports massage alongside treatments including dry cupping, hot stone sports massage and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilisation (IASTM). Every treatment is tailored to the individual, whether that’s addressing a particular problem, supporting recovery or simply helping you feel and move better.

One thing I’ve always been keen to emphasise is that sports massage isn’t just for athletes. You don’t need to play sport or have an injury to benefit from treatment.

My approach is friendly, professional and straightforward. I believe effective treatment doesn’t need to be unnecessarily painful, and I always aim to make clients feel comfortable and at ease.

A little about me outside of work...

Sport has always been a big part of my life. I’ve played both rugby league and rugby union, and later developed a passion for distance running, completing numerous 10Ks, half marathons and a full marathon. More recently, I’ve taken up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which has given me a new appreciation for the demands that exercise can place on the body!

Strengths

  • Sports massage
  • Cupping
  • Hot stones massage
  • IASTM
  • Spinal mobilisation and manipulation
  • Passive stretching
  • Trigger point therapy
